Eligibility
There is no entry fee to participate in the Voice of Enterprising India Contest.
A ‘voice' is defined as any text, video, audio whose web-url is submitted in the ‘My Voice’ box in the registration form. Multiple ‘voices' are permitted. However, making multiple submissions of what is essentially the same entry will be treated as spamming, and our moderators may delete all entries. An audio/video ‘voice’ must be in English or Hindi languages only.
A ‘vote’ is defined as a ‘Like’ by other users on the posted and or shared content on the Enterprising India Fan Page.
Popularity of a ‘voice’ will be judged on the basis of ‘Likes’ and ‘positive comments’ that it receives on the Fan Page of Enterprising India.
Verify the content of your ‘voice’ and it’s web-url before you submit it to us. If you discover an error after you get your acknowledgement email and resubmit the corrected ‘voice', it is liable to be treated as spam. We shall not entertain communication asking us to edit your ‘voice' in the database.
Your ‘voice‘ in text must be restricted to 1500 characters (which might fit in some 150 words); in audio and video formats it must be restricted to 90 sec. So please articulate to the point. All communication to the site administrators asking for an increase in above limit will be ignored. If persistent calls are made, then the ‘voice' and its companion information may be deleted and, you may be barred from posting any further.
Anyone, anywhere, can post a ‘voice’, or vote for a ‘voice'. Note, however, that you must be present in India if you win the contest and are invited to the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit ‘09- else, the delegate pass will be awarded to the next eligible entry.
You take the responsibility that your ‘voice' is your own original work, and is previously unpublished anywhere, in print or online. If we receive legitimate complaints that your ‘voice' has been copied or plagiarized from someone else's ‘voice', posted earlier on Voice of Enterprising India Contest or elsewhere, we shall summarily remove it, without having to inform you.
Publication implies that there was some form of editorial or jury selection and/or payment involved. A ‘voice' that you have posted earlier on your personal blog or an unmoderated forum is permissible, but something that won you a prize somewhere is not. Something that may have been selected to be printed in a book, newspaper, magazine or website will be considered as published, whether you got paid for it or not.
EDITORIAL POLICY
Prepare your ‘voice' carefully. Hundreds or thousands or even more people will see your ‘voice' and vote/comment for or against it, so before you submit, please do take the time to get it right. Spell-checking or voice clarity is a bare minimum! Poorly articulated 'voices' with bad spelling and grammatical errors will be an embarrassment to you, the author, and might result in more negative comments votes than positive comments!
Once your ‘voice' has been posted, it cannot be edited. This is in the interest of the voters: consider for a moment how would you feel if someone could change the ‘voice' after you had voted on it!
When submit your ‘voice’ on the form, our staff will automatically be notified of your submission and will act to review it soon. In most cases your ‘voice' should pass the review, but it does help to keep the following in mind:-
1. Your ‘voice' cannot contain offensive or inappropriate language. This also applies to misspellings or other variations of inappropriate language.
2. Your ‘voice' cannot be an advertisement for a product/service masquerading as a ‘voice'.
3. Your ‘voice' may not imply an affiliation, partnership, or any special relationship with any sponsors/partners of TiE Entrepreneurial Summit ‘09.
4. Your ‘voice' should not contain trademarked words or phrases, unless they are commonly used as generic words (such as Xerox), or you have explicit permission to use them. Your ‘voice’ cannot infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party.
5. Your ‘voice' should not contain any content that you do not have a right to transmit under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as inside information, proprietary and confidential information learned or disclosed as part of employment relationships or under nondisclosure agreements).
6. This is not the place for launching personal attacks on anyone. Don't promote violence or advocacy against any person or group of persons. ‘Voices' advocating violence, discrimination, social boycott or persecution against any organization, person, or group of people are not permitted. A group of people may be distinguished by their race, ethnic origin, color, sex, age, nation of origin, religion, sect, language, disability, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, the organization they work in, or state of origin.
7. Be considerate to minors. Any ‘voice' deemed by our moderators to hurt or harm minors in any way will be removed.
8. Be decent. Any content that is deemed harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or contrary to public interest, public order or national harmony in all relevant jurisdictions will be summarily removed without any prior notice to you.
9. ‘Voices' promoting violation of the Constitution of India or the State and/or Union laws of India or of any other country are not permitted.
10. Do not submit ‘voices' promoting violation of the Declaration of Human Rights or any international treaties, pacts or agreements.
11. Do not submit ‘voices' promoting your own, or any other person's candidacy to any government or private office. You may not use this forum to promote the interests of any contestant on a reality show or any other contest.
12. ‘Voices' promoting prostitution, pornography, drug abuse, crime or pedophilia will be removed.
13. Do not post any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
Any ‘voice' that violates one or more of these guidelines will be summarily removed, without informing the author. Apart from that, The Indus Entrepreneurs-Mumbai, hereinafter referred to as ‘TiE Mumbai’, retains the full and unfettered right to remove any post we deem fit for removal, even if it does comply with our editorial policy. Reasons for doing so may or may not be disclosed by us. No emails, letters, faxes or phone calls will be entertained in this regard.
Violations of editorial policy may be further prosecuted by barring the offender from any use of the site, and/or appropriate legal action if necessary.
